FAMILY CONTACT

WHAT IS SUPERVISED FAMILY CONTACT

Supervised family contact supports children to spend time with parents in a safe, structured, and child-focused environment. A youth worker is present either during changeovers and throughout the entire visit to ensure the child’s safety and wellbeing.

Family Contact at Supportive Minds

  • What do we provide?

At Supportive Minds, family contact is designed to be calm, respectful, and nurturing. Children and parents are supported to connect in a secure, one-on-one setting where the child’s needs come first. Our trained youth workers are always available to provide reassurance, support emotional safety, and intervene if a child becomes distressed.

Family contact includes but not limited to:

  • Supervised contact in a safe, child-focused environment
  • Supported changeovers to reduce stress and promote emotional safety
  • Trauma-informed supervision by trained, independent staff
  • Transport to and from family contact visits
  • Transport to therapy appointments, education settings, and other approved activities
  • Ongoing focus on the child’s emotional wellbeing, comfort, and safety

We are committed to providing safe and reliable transport for children and young people, ensuring they can attend family contact visits
